About Mr. Steve
For Mr. Steve, homebrewing started nearly two decades ago out of a love for good beer. Mr. Steve turned an interest for beer into a passion for the joys of homebrewing. The original desire to homebrew began when he was not satisfied with the beers found in stores at the time. Starting in his kitchen, he learned that homebrewing allowed him to create a fresher, less expensive end product with no preservatives. With experience, Steve learned that the varieties of brews he could create were endless, with the only limit being his imagination. Brewing eventually opened the door to home wine making and Steve began a new mission to learn all he could about home wine making. Over 20 years, Mr. Steve has learned to perfect his craft, even creating his own recipes along the way.

About The Store

Mr. Steve’s passion for homebrewing grew into the idea of a unique business opportunity. With the encouragement of his family and friends, Mr. Steve’s Homebrewing Supplies was opened in 1993. Since then, Mr. Steve and the rest of the brew crew have been focused in meeting customers’ brewing and wine making needs.

Mr. Steve’s customers saw a large expansion in 2009. Mr. Steve’s York moved to a new, larger location to accommodate an expanding customer base and product demand. Store inventory was doubled and a specific space was devoted to wine making supplies. Also in 2009, a second location was opened in Lancaster, meeting growing public demand.

Throughout everything, the original purpose of Mr. Steve’s has never changed; to help make homebrewing accessible, answer customer questions, and create great beer and wine. It is a goal to ensure that when a customer leaves Mr. Steve’s, they feel confident enough to make their own wine or beer at home.

Brewing Classes

We love to brew and we enjoy teaching people how to start brewing on their own. Throughout the year, we offer several brewing classes to help provide advice to homebrewers and share many tips of the trade that we have learned. These classes are a great way to better understand brewing techniques, learn some new recipes, and ask plenty of questions.
